I have graduated at a rather inconvenient time to enter the work force; headlines of job cuts and layoffs are constantly featured in the news. Most of the people I know are continuing in grad school, but since I don't know exactly what I want to pursue in grad school (MSW, MPH + M.A. in Latin American studies, Ph.D. in Sociology of Gender...) or where I want to go, I long ago decided that I would work for a few years and save my money, get some "real world" experience, etc.
Unemployment offers me too much free time. Some of which is being dedicated to the job search, but it's awfully lonely and boring to be stuck in my room all day writing in business-speak. Blech. On the upside I've been sketching again. Still, I feel like I'm under house arrest and it is a rather drastic change from constantly being surrounded by thousands of my peers.
Maybe you'll see some artwork soon. Not making any promises...this woman needs to find herself a source of income soon!
